stop at that. We are committed to external validation of our
services by holding a number of demanding certifications.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standard
Manx Telecom is fully committed to maintaining registration to
the International Quality Standard BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and
realising the business benefits that come about through
registration. The system and processes that are currently in place
have evolved on an ongoing basis since our first registration in
1994 and are firmly embedded into company operations.
This extensive assessment of our business management processes
has been a key enabler and driver of continuous improvement within
Manx Telecom. We are assessed by an external assessor every six
months and have maintained continuous compliance since our first
certification. We were one of the first companies in the Isle of
Man to be awarded this certification.

ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Standard
All Manx Telecom buildings are covered by our certification,
including our Douglas North and Greenhill Data Centres. BS ISO/IEC
27001:2013 is the most rigorous security standard anywhere in the
Manx Telecom’s certification covers all of our data centre
service operations, managed service platforms, IP connectivity,
global solutions products, fixed, broadband & mobile networks,
access networks, all our buildings & associated services,
provision and repair services. In addition it also includes
corporate IT services, HR, procurement, customer accounts and
finance. We have held ISO 27001 since 2004.
ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standard
This certification takes into account every aspect of Manx
Telecom’s operations and aims to manage, control, and reduce the
impact of the business on the environment. Manx Telecom was one of
the first companies in the Isle of Man to be certified to BS EN ISO
14001:2004 which we have held since 2004.
Accuracy - BABT
We were the world’s first telecoms operator to gain British
Approvals Board of Telecommunications (BABT) approval for the
accuracy of our billing across fixed, mobile, and broadband.
This means that our customers can have confidence that our
billing processes and systems are produced and supported to the
highest standards. Manx Telecom remains the only
telecommunications provider on the Isle of Man to be BABT
approved. It is also the only telecommunications company in
the world to have attained BABT approval for all billing aspects
across every area of its business.
We provide fully outsourced managed data centre platforms to a
range of customers that are required to be compliant with this
standard and are audited annually. It is the world’s most advanced
and most stringent security standard for online payment
processors. PCI DSS is the “gold standard” for protecting
customer account data. We work with Neovia, a world leader in
on-line payments for customers in 160 countries. With a Manx
Telecom built platform, they have the most successful prepaid card
programs in the market, allowing customers to spend safely at over
24 million MasterCard locations point of sale, ATMs and online.
Staff dealing with sensitive data, or involved in the security
or resilience of our systems, are security vetted by the Special
Branch and Intelligence unit of the Isle of Man Constabulary.
