BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)

Never miss another important message. Now you can send and receive your email using your BlackBerry from Manx Telecom. There's no need to be tied to your desk - with BlackBerry you can manage your business and personal communications - even when abroad. Email messages that are sent to your email address(es) will be automatically pushed to your BlackBerry device. If you don't already have an email address, you can easily set up a BlackBerry email address to use with your BlackBerry device.

BlackBerry Internet Service from Manx Telecom enables you to easily connect to the following types of email accounts:

  • Internet Service Provider (ISP) email accounts e.g. Manxnet, Yahoo!, Hotmail *(dependent on Hotmail subscription), Google and many more
  • Company email accounts that allow email forwarding
  • Company email accounts that allow access via the Internet (POP3/IMAP4 access)

You need the BlackBerry Enterprise Service from Manx Telecom. If you have your own internal email servers (Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino or GroupWise) and need to access your company email, data, Intranet or the web with higher levels of security and administrative support.

The BlackBerry Internet Solution from Manx Telecom offers:

  • Easy set-up via web interface
  • You can link up to 10 email addresses offering you flexibility
  • Unlimited email quota - your device is linked directly to your email account(s) and there is no maximum BlackBerry mailbox size so no need to remember to clear out emails and no service disruption because of full mailboxes. All messages over 30 days old are automatically deleted from your BlackBerry handheld.
  • Control your email 
  • View attachments - A wireless attachments service for documents such as: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PDF, and Microsoft PowerPoint slides in their original format, so presentations are clear.
