Ultima
Manx Telecom's brand new Ultima service offers Broadband speeds
of up to 40Mbps (Megabits per second) downstream and up to 2Mbps
upstream on telephone lines up to 2KM in length. Based on Very High
Speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) technology Ultima is as much
as 3 times faster than ADSL2+ Broadband.

ADSL2+
For those customers who do not need Ultima Manx Telecom
Broadband is still available utilising Asymmetric Digital
Subscriber Line (ADSL2+) which offers speeds of up to 16Mbps
downstream and up to 832Kbps (Kilobits per second) upstream.
Broadband uses your existing telephone line for data
communications in parallel with your regular telephone voice
services.
With Broadband you can surf the Internet, download music,
pictures and movies, play online games, keep in touch with friends
and family using email or instant messaging and use the telephone
at the same time.

Activation and Equipment
Ultima requires a Manx Telecom engineer to visit your premises
to convert a telephone socket. Ultima does not require plug-in
filters.
ADSL2+ is a 'Wires-Only' service and does not need an
engineering visit. We will activate Broadband on your line and you
simply plug in your filters and install your router.
You must have a compatible VDSL or ADSL2+ router to connect to
Manx Telecom Broadband. We can offer a FREE router with many of our

Availability and Typical Speed Ranges
The Broadband speed you will receive is predominantly determined
by your telephone line length. All telephone exchanges Island-wide
are enabled for both Broadband and Ultima so to see what speeds you
could be receiving simply enter your telephone telephone number in

Existing Customers
Upgrade to ADSL2+ Free of charge.
If you are outside any minimum term for your existing Broadband
service, sign-up for our 18 month Broadband 40GB, 150GB,
Broadband Unlimited or 'Wires-Only' Broadband Business and
Broadband Business Lite packages and we'll upgrade your Broadband
to ADSL2+ and give you an ADSL2+ wireless router FREE of
charge!
If you subscribe to Broadband 15GB or you do not wish to
extend your minimum term, you can upgrade for FREE by contacting
Sales on 624 624. You must ensure you have an ADSL2+ compatible
router.
There will be no change to your monthly rental charges after
moving to ADSL2+.
Upgrades to ADSL2+ may take up to 5 working days.
