Activation and Equipment

Ultima

Ultima VDSL services are installed by a Manx Telecom engineer so there is no need for you to do anything. Simply order your service and we can post you a pre-configured router out and our engineer will visit at an arranged time to connect you to Ultima.

ADSL2+

Wires-Only ADSL2+ does not require an engineering visit. Once the service is ordered your line will be activated within 10 working days and you will receive 2 microfilters, or filters, together with an information sheet with details of your username and password.

Our engineers will contact you when your Broadband service is ready and they will advise you to plug your filters in and install your router.
The filters must be plugged into any telephone socket that is being used as the ADSL signal is delivered to every socket in the property. Failure to have a filter in every socket that is in use may result in connection problems and noise on your telephone line.

Equipment

You must purchase your own ADSL2+ compatible router to connect to Broadand.  Please refer to the router guides for the minimum specifications required for your PC or Mac.

Broadband modems are not compatible with ADSL2+ services.

You may purchase a router and additional filters from Manx Telecom's shop in Victoria Street, Douglas or Online via Manx Telecom's e-Shop.  Alternatively you can purchase these devices from other computer retailers.

Manx Telecom can also provide a free ADSL2+ router with some of our Broadband packages. Please see here for details.

For further information regarding Broadband please see our Support Section.
