Ultima 40GB

Ultima 40GB (GigaByte) utilises Manx Telecom VDSL technology for very high speed Internet access. Ultima uses your existing telephone line and an dedicated VDSL socket in parallel with your regular telephone service.

With Ultima you can surf the Internet, play online games, watch online video and listen to music and online radio at the fastest speeds possible.

Ultima provides Broadband speeds at up to 40Mbps (Megabits per second) downstream and up to 2Mbps upstream.

Who is it for?

If your home has one or two computers and the Internet is used regularly, even for file downloads, then this could be the package for you. 40GB is a generous cap for typical family use of the Internet on one or two computers.

How much is 40GB?

Each calendar month you have an allocation of 40GB of throughput data to use. Whether you are downloading files, sending emails, watching videos on BBC iPlayer or YouTube, uploading to Facebook or just generally surfing the web this all uses your 40GB of data.

Keep an eye on your data use

During the month if you reach 50% or 80% of your allocated data your Internet browser will be redirected to a advisory page to notify you. You can also check your Broadband usage via the Manx Telecom My Account service.

What happens if I use all my data?

In the unlikely event that you use all your data during a month your Broadband connection speed will still be available, albeit at a much reduced speed. You then have a few options:

1: Wait till the 1st of the next calendar month, at which time your new monthly allocation of data will become available at full speed.

2: Use the online portal, which will be displayed twice an hour, to pay a release fee to provide unrestricted access at full speed, till the end of that month at which point your usual monthly allocation of data will become available.

3: You could contact Sales on 624 624 to upgrade your service to the next package.
