Data Roaming

If you want to access the internet on your mobile or use your Blackberry when roaming you will need to be on a Pay monthly price plan and check that there is a data roaming agreement with at least one network in the country you are visiting. Data roaming isn’t currently available on Pay As You Go.  Manx Telecom has data roaming agreements with over 100 destinations offering a range of GPRS, 3G and HSPDA speeds. Data will be charged on an incremental basis depending on the pricing structure set by the foreign operator.  For data roaming rates please contact 624624.

Be aware of data charges for the operator you are roaming with, don't inadvertently run up a large bill. Only download what is necessary, for example, where possible, prohibit automatic downloading of email attachments. Some operators have a high minimum data session charge, so it’s more cost effective to download emails once a day.
