What is a Megabyte (MB)?
When you use data services (Internet, email) you will be charged
for the amount of data that you send and receive rather than the
time spent using the service. As a guide a Megabyte (Mb) is
equivalent to the following:
As a guide 1 Megabyte (MB) is equivalent to the following*
500 emails
An average text email is 2 Kilobytes = 512 average emails
sent/received for 1 MB. Remember you can specify in your
phone’s inbox settings the maximum size of an email downloaded to
your handset.
205 WAP pages
An average text only WAP page is 5KB = 205 average WAP page
visits for 1 MB.
50 Web pages
An average mobile web page with pictures is 30KB = 50 average
web page visits for 1MB.
10 Truetones
An average high quality ring tone is 250KB.

1024 bytes in a Kilobyte (KB), 1024 Kilobytes in a Megabyte
(MB), and 1024 Megabytes in a Gigabyte (GB).
*Please note that these figures are indicative and a guideline
only, as every webpage etc is a different size.
How much will it cost?
Everything you send or receive over the internet is bits of data
and the mobile internet is no different, whether it's a web page,
an e-mail, a music track or a video clip. Each bit is a different
size and is measure in Kilobytes or Megabytes. Free data allowance
and ongoing charge per Kilobyte will depend on which tariff you are
on.
