Email Settings

To manually set up your iPhone for manx.net addresses please use the following information. For all other email addresses please contact your email host provider.

Which Manxnet Mail account?

Free Manxnet accounts can be used to send and receive email on your iPhone while you are connected to the Manx Telecom network or using a Manx Telecom Internet connection. If your iPhone is using a different network or Internet connection, e.g. whilst roaming you will need to apply Mail Plus to your Manxnet email. More information about Mail Plus can be found here.

Mail Plus settings are included below.

Manual Set up

On your iPhone:

  • Go to settings, scroll down to and select Mail Contacts & Calendars
  • Click Add Account
  • Click Other if setting up a manx.net account
    (if Yahoo or Gmail, click the appropriate link)
  • Add mail account

Enter the following information:

Address Your email address
Password Your email address password
Description How you want to identify this email account on the iPhone (i.e. my mail account)
  • Click Save at the top right
  • In the next screen select POP on the right hand tab and enter the following:

Incoming Mail Server Settings

Username Email address.  Do not include @manx.net Email address. Do not include @manx.net
Password Your email password Your email password

Outgoing Mail Server Settings

  • Click Save at the top right
  • If a message displays warning that it may fail, select Save anyway

This should accept and save your settings. Next, check and adjust the following settings.

In the account screen you should see the mail account you have created. Click it and scroll to the bottom of the page to Outgoing Server and click SMTP mailout.manx.net

Click Primary Server and it should look like this:

Use SSL OFF

Authentication: Password

Server Port: 25

  • Press Home button (This is the indented button at the bottom of the phone) and try mail account.
  • If there is no incoming mail, go into: Settings > Mail Contacts & Calendars > select Account and scroll to Advanced
  • Incoming settings should look like the examples below:
