Don’t forget 31st January deadline for discounted entry to Manx Telecom Parish Walk
There are just 10 days left to get the maximum discount on entry for this year’s Manx Telecom Parish Walk.
Around 500 people have already signed up for the walk which takes place on Saturday 20th June 2020. Anyone signing on by midnight on 31st January can take advantage of the early bird reduced fee of £35, and Manx Telecom mobile customers are also eligible for a further £5 discount, which means they only need to pay £30 to take part in the Island’s most popular mass participation sporting event.
Between 1st February and 31st March the entry fee is £40 with entries from 1st April to the closing date of 10th May costing £50. All entries must be submitted online at parishwalk.com.
Last year saw 1,341 competitors taking part with 158 walkers completing the full 85-mile distance that tours all of the Isle of Man’s 17 parishes. The fastest time for completion of the course is 14 hours, 40 minutes and 8 seconds, achieved by five times winner Richard Gerrard in 2015. However many of the participants enter as a personal challenge or for charity and set their own targets to one of the 17 checkpoints along the way.
Manx Telecom has been the headline sponsor of the Parish Walk since 2012, having previously been involved since 2007 as the official timing and results partner. Anyone interested in taking part for the first time should visit the Parish Walk website blog where previous participants offer a range of tips and advice on training and nutrition.
