Broadband speed is the rate at which information is sent (upstream) and received (downstream) on your line and is measured in Megabits per second (Mb/s). The speed of all Broadband services is predominately determined by the length of your Manx Telecom telephone line.

Ultima V-Plus Broadband provides download speeds of up to 200Mbps and upload speeds of up to 20Mbps.  It is available at a select number of locations around the Island, your line must be in the region of 0.4KM or less in length.

Ultima Plus Broadband delivers speeds up to 100Mbps downstream and up to 10Mbps upstream. Ultima Plus Broadband is available on lines less than 1KM in length.

Ultima Broadband offers speeds up to 40Mbps downstream and up to 2Mb/s upstream.  Ultima Broadband is available on lines less than 2.5KM in length.

ADSL2+ Standard Broadband provides speeds up to 16Mbps downstream and 832Kbps per second upstream

Test Notes

We will always provide the best speed possible that your line can technically deliver depending on whether you take ADSL2+ Standard Broadband, Ultima Broadband, Ultima Plus Broadband or Ultima V-Plus Broadband, however speeds can vary and fall within a typical speed range for any given line length. This range is an indication of the speed that other similar length lines across the Island have achieved. The actual speed you achieve is dependent on several factors such as the wiring in your premises, the processing power of your computer(s), how many people are sharing your broadband connection at the same time, whether you are using a wireless or cable connected router, the speed of the websites you visit and how we manage our network. Speeds can be lower at peak times.

A Manx Telecom line is required for all Broadband services.
