Midnight Sunday May 6th: Last chance to enter Manx Telecom Parish Walk

Midnight on Sunday May 6th is the final deadline to enter this year’s Manx Telecom Parish Walk. Walkers can choose to take part as individuals or sign-up for one of the two team categories: Corporate Team and Overall Team. For individual and team entries, the fee is £40 per person. Anyone who has already entered as an individual, but now wants to join a team, can do so by amending their entry online before the final deadline of midnight on May 6th.

All entries must be made at www.parishwalk.com

1,384 walkers have already signed-up (as at 2nd May) – that’s 141 up on the same time last year.

This year, thanks to the event’s title sponsor, timing will be provided by Manx Timing Solutions. Walkers will have a timing chip incorporated into their race number bib and their time will be automatically registered when they cross sensors in mats at each checkpoint. On race day, live updates will be available at mt.im/parishwalktiming with details of times for walkers arriving at every checkpoint, including the first one at Marown. Another new addition for this year is Snapchat filters at the start and finish (NSC and Douglas Promenade War Memorial) and along the course at Ballahutchin, Rushen and Peel.

As always, all walkers taking part can use the automated texting service provided for free by Manx Telecom – the service sends text messages to two nominated mobile numbers with details of the time that the walker reaches each checkpoint from Santon (the second checkpoint) onwards. This year’s event starts at the NSC at 8am on Saturday June 23rd.
