What's Changed?
For some properties, connecting to the fibre network requires extra civil engineering work. Usually because the underground ducting between the street and your home is blocked or needs extending. Until now, this was an additional cost. We’ve changed that, now Manx Telecom Retail will cover the cost of civil engineering works up to 20 metres as part of your 36-month Fibre plan.
Is my property eligible?
You may be eligible for inclusive civil engineering funding if:
- If your property has been categorised as Amber meaning exception property as you have a blocked underground duct or buried copper cabling that needs replacing to allow fibre installation.
- The civil engineering works required are 20 metres or less from the Manx Telecom Network at your property boundary
- You take a 36-month Manx Telecom Fibre plan
Not sure if this applies to you? Just fill in the form further down the page, and we’ll arrange a survey to assess your property and confirm what’s needed.

Why Fibre makes a difference
Fibre broadband is a step forward from both legacy copper and satellite-based internet services. Here’s what you can expect:
- Speeds up to 1Gbps: fast, consistent broadband for every device in the home, unaffected by how many people are online or how far your property sits from the local exchange
- Upload speeds up to 200Mbps: a significant step up for video calling, remote working, cloud backups, and sharing large files
- Ultra-low latency: near-instant response times for video calls, gaming, online learning, and everyday browsing, without the delays associated with alternative internet services
- Reliable in all conditions: fibre is not affected by electrical interference or adverse weather, so you get a stable connection year-round
- Future-ready: a network built to accommodate growing demand for decades ahead, ready for whatever new technologies emerge
- Locally managed and supported: our team is based on the Isle of Man and here to help
