Metro and Non-Metro Carrier Ethernet products are available in 1, 3 and 5 year contract terms with a minimum bandwidth of 10Mbps. They are available to new customers and to existing customers that are out of term wishing to migrate onto a Metro or Non-Metro service.
On Island Ethernet circuits were described as ‘Same Exchange’ and ‘Different Exchange,’ this no longer applies and has been replaced with ‘Metro’ or ‘Non-Metro’ services. These are used as follows:
- Metro – Any circuit that originates and terminates within Douglas and Castletown exchange areas. It also includes circuits between Douglas and Castletown.
- Non-Metro – Any circuit that originates or terminates outside of the Douglas and Castletown exchange areas.
