Live at Home Members Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

The Manx charity Live at Home, which supports isolated adults on the island, threw a tea party for its members to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in a marquee in the grounds of the Fun Farm, Onchan.

The celebratory event was attended by the Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer and his wife, Lady Lorimer. Over 100 members of Live at Home from all over the island came together in outfits fit for a Queen and toasted her Majesty’s historic 70 year reign. Members were entertained by guitarist Sean Crossley, with many taking to the dance floor.

Mrs Jackie Bridson, the CEO of Live at Home, said: “This event has been planned for some time and has benefitted from the kind support of Manx Telecom’s Community Fund. It has been a wonderful and joyful occasion and the smiles and laughter illustrated perfectly the positive impact of getting people together in a social setting.”
