The Manx Telecom Parish Walk is pleased to introduce the Emerging Athlete Award, a brand-new initiative aimed at supporting and recognising young Manx talent across all disciplines of athletics.

This award, which includes a £1,000 grant, is designed to assist athletes aged 17 to 23 in their sporting journey, whether through travel, coaching, equipment, or physiotherapy.

Applications are now being distributed through athletics clubs across the island or can be found at www.parishwalk.com/page_896750.html. Eligible athletes are encouraged to apply, with forms to be submitted by the deadline of 5 May 2025.

Raymond Cox, Parish Walk Organiser, said: "The Emerging Athlete Award is a fantastic opportunity for young Manx athletes to gain vital support in their development. Whether they are competing locally or internationally, this funding can make a real difference in helping them achieve their goals. We’re delighted to have Manx Telecom’s backing in recognising and encouraging local sporting talent."

The award will be announced at the Parish Walk Prize Presentation Evening at the Villa Marina on 24 June.

This year’s Parish Walk will take place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June, and participants have until 4 May to register. Entries can be submitted at www.parishwalk.com.
