Impact of changes to roaming tariffs for Vodafone and EE

We are aware that certain UK mobile operators are reducing or removing inclusive EU roaming charges. This will mean that some visitors to the Isle of Man may incur roaming charges, depending on their host provider’s tariffs. It also means that any Isle of Man residents permanently roaming using a UK mobile operator’s SIM card while here, will also incur roaming charges. This can be avoided by purchasing a Manx Telecom SIM card which includes a wide range of free allowances for data with 99% 4G coverage, minutes and texts to suit customers’ needs while on the Island.

Customers should also note that many of the main UK operators have in the past year reinforced their permanent roaming terms and conditions.  What this means for inbound roamers to the Isle of Man is that if you are permanently roaming for over typically 60 days then, depending on your operator’s terms, they may decide to suspend your service or charge an additional permanent roaming fee.  In both instances, purchasing a Manx Telecom SIM card which includes a wide range of roaming allowances will ensure you continue to have coverage on the Isle of Man.

For Isle of Man residents travelling to the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands and the EU, Manx Telecom currently includes up to 6GB of data, 600 minutes and 600 texts of roaming allowances with our Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go tariffs.
